What is NIPAAW?



NATIONAL INDIGENOUS PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AWARENESS WEEK

June 21st to June 25th


or NIPAAW for short. The intent of the week is to promote physical activity within our urban and rural Indigenous communities through organizing several simple and fun initiatives. IPACC would like to support your community or organization to “kick-off” the inaugural National Indigenous Physical Activity Awareness week. Therefore we have created a tool kit to support you with the 5 day campaign to be physically active across Canada.
The theme for NIPAAW's campaign is:

"Show Us Your Active Spirit"


We are hoping to inspire other communities, organizations, groups, teams etc. to have a fun filled 5 days of physical activity and share their stories, photos and/or ideas to help inspire others to join in the week and "Show Us Their Active Spirit". The toolkit below will help you start your own 5 days of activity. Follow IPACC on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to be updated on NIPAA week including upcoming contests, ideas on how to stay active, and as a place to share how you are showing your active spirit!

Got a sport, recreation, fitness or traditional activity event or initiative happening in your community between June 21st and 25th 2018? We want to share it with the Nation! Please send us any posters or releases for the event to indigenouspacc@gmail.com and we will share it with our network. We would also love to see any photos or stories from your week of physical activity. "Show Us Your Active Spirit" and share your week with us on our Facebook NIPAAW event page, Twitter, and Instagram, to inspire others to get active and do the same!
